When sealing aluminum curtain walls, metal door frames, or HVAC ductwork, the sealant you choose can make or break your project. The right answer is a neutral-cure, one-part RTV silicone formulated specifically for non-ferrous and ferrous metal substrates. Jiaobao's NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal delivers a verified thermal tolerance of -50°C to +150°C, a tensile strength of 0.7 MPa, Shore A 30 hardness, and 25% movement capability — all without releasing corrosive by-products that degrade aluminum surfaces. Backed by ISO and CE certifications and over 13 years of production expertise, it is engineered for demanding industrial sealing environments.
Some silicone seals can't be used on metal that has or doesn't have a coating. When acetoxy-cure silicones are vulcanized, they release acetic acid. This acid breaks down mill-finish aluminum and metals that combine with it, like zinc and copper. With a neutral-cure solution, that risk is gone for good. Jiaobao's one-part RTV glue has an oxime-cure method that doesn't dissolve, so it can be used on most surfaces without a primer. These surfaces include stainless steel, anodized aluminum, powder-coated steel, and galvanized panels.
At room temperature, the glue hardens by taking in water from the air. If you keep it at 25°C and 50% relative humidity, the surface won't stick for 30 minutes and will be fully mechanically strong in 7–14 days. When it's warmer and more humid, that time frame goes by faster.
Following ASTM C 679, the item has 0 mm flow/sagging, which means it stays in place on metal parts that are vertical. This is a very important trait for building door frames and curtain walls. According to GB 13477, the VOC level stays below 80 g/L. This helps meet the needs of tougher indoor air quality standards.
That info has been checked out, and here is a quick link to it:
All of these things work together to keep NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal flexible and sticky even when it's exposed to the big changes in temperature that happen a lot in metal buildings outside, where it can get as cold as -40°C and as hot as 85°C.
Si–O bonds make up the backbone of silicone polymers. These bonds are much stronger than the C–C bonds found in polyurethane and acrylic seals. This chemical structure can't be broken down by UV light or heat. This is why silicone stays flexible and sticks together at temperatures that would weaken polyurethane or make acrylic stiff. The sealant keeps its elastomeric properties at +150°C, so it doesn't move or lose its bond integrity. Above 80°C, polyurethane-based options rarely reach this level of performance.
The most important thing for a sealer to work well is that the surface is ready. The two-cloth solvent wipe method must be used to clean metal surfaces before the sealant is used. IPA should be put on one cloth, and then a second clean cloth should be used to wipe the area dry right away, before the solvent evaporates. This gets rid of the dust, oil, and mill scale that would have caused the glue to fail otherwise. The sealer can be taken out of its 300 ml or 600 ml cartridge or sausage pack, and the surface can be tooled while it's still open. After that, it can be left to cure without being touched.
Acrylic sealants and polyurethane sealants both break down when exposed to UV light for a long time. Neutral-cure silicone sealants, on the other hand, stay flexible when they break and stick together after years of use outside without chalking or discoloring. It is very clear that this is helpful for metal curtain wall panels and HVAC duct joints, since heat moves back and forth a lot.
Purchasing managers should look at NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal for use in workshops or on construction sites based on four things that can be checked. Before you place a large order, you should make sure that the following things are met:
Getting the best deal between these technical standards and the cost per unit is what really tests how efficient buying is. Because it doesn't stick well, a cheap sealer will cost a lot more to fix than it saved in the first place. In this group are things like guaranty claims, extra work, and image damage.
There are two types of containers that Jiaobao sells the sealant in: sausage packs and cartridges. There are also two sizes of containers: 300 ml and 600 ml. Production lines that use pneumatic guns like sausage packs because they cut down on the waste that comes from packing. People who work and install things in the field can use cartridges well. The sealing on finished door frames and curtain wall systems can be made to match the color of the door frames or be a custom color. It comes in white, black, gray, and other colors.
We can ship NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal by land or water to people in North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. The normal wait time for creation is one to two weeks. Brand owners can get OEM and ODM customization if they need private-label packaging, paperwork in their own language, or changes to the recipe to make it fit local building rules or ASTM C920. It will last for a year from the date it was made if you store it right.
People who work with silicone should do so in well-ventilated places because it gives off low-level volatile chemicals. Simple safety glasses and rubber gloves are all you need for everyday use. When silicone is hard, chemicals won't change it, and it's safe to touch.
A lot of people make the mistake of putting the sealant on a surface that hasn't been cleaned well enough. A bead that comes off easily after curing is almost always caused by oil or solvent getting into the mix. Size of the joint is also very important. Joints that are less than 6 mm wide or more than 50 mm wide put too much stress on the sealant for it to move, no matter how good it is.
To keep them in good shape, check metal systems outside with sealed joints once a year. Surface chalking or darkening is just for looks and doesn't mean the glue is coming off. But once the surface is ready, any crack that goes from the bond line to the metal contact needs to be sealed again right away. With a shelf life of 12 months, stores that take a lot of orders need to be very good at switching out their stock.
It's not easy to choose NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal as a heat-resistant sealant for metal and aluminum. That a sealed joint lasts years or only a few months depends on how it was cured, the temperature range that was confirmed, how the adhesion failed, and the supplier's approval position.
Blind and window makers, curtain wall providers, and HVAC fabricators all count on Jiaobao's neutral-cure RTV silicone to meet their own technical standards. It's been tried and tested and shown to work. It's also ISO and CE approved, and there are several ways to buy it so that OEMs who want to make changes can easily find what they need.
Yes. It can be used on aluminum that has been anodized or powder-coated, as well as on most metal surfaces that have been finished at the mill but have not been prepared. Once you're ready to use mill-finish aluminum, clean the surface well with IPA to make sure there is no cohesive failure.
Sealant can last for a long time in temperatures as high as 150°C and as low as -50°C.
It takes between 7 and 14 days for the clay to fully cure outside, where it is above 15°C and there is a light breeze. When it's warm and humid, the curing process goes faster. When it's cold and dry, it goes slower.
That's not right. This stuff is made to keep the weather out, fill in cracks, and stick to metal edges. If you want to use structural glazing, you need high-modulus structural silicones that meet ASTM C1184, but this product doesn't meet those requirements.
The sealer comes in 300 ml and 600 ml sausage packs as well as tubes. Sausage packs work best for pneumatic filling tools on production lines with a lot of work to be done.
Over the past 13 years, Jiaobao has been making things. They have ISO/CE-certified quality control, wait times of one to two weeks, and can do both OEM and ODM work. We can help you find a trustworthy NP Silicone Sealant for Aluminum & Metal manufacturer for a large curtain wall project or a lot of sending goods under your own brand name. Our prices are fair, and we offer a range of packaging choices. We can be reached at dorashen@cnjiaobao.com or shandongjiaobao.com if you want to see samples or talk about the project in person.
