NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade work seals the exterior joints of a building. These include curtain wall perimeters, glass-to-aluminum joints, metal panel seams, and window and door gaps, so rain, wind-driven moisture, and dust stay out. It is a one-part, neutral-cure paste that hardens with moisture from the air into a flexible, rubber-like seal. That seal moves with the building as temperatures change, and it does not carry structural loads. I wrote this guide to show where the sealant fits, how it performs, and how to choose and apply it with confidence.
NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade is an RTV silicone that only needs one part. RTV stands for "room-temperature vulcanizing," which means you don't have to heat or mix the paste. It makes a skin when it comes in contact with water in the air. As the skin cures on the inside, it turns into a soft, rubbery solid. When the reaction is negative, it doesn't give off acetic acid. Acetic acid is what gives acetoxy goods their sour smell.
That's important for surfaces made of metal or paint that acid can damage. At 25°C and 50% relative humidity, the Jiaobao grade cures completely in 7–14 days. In 30 minutes, the surface is dry. I always check the technical data sheet to make sure the mixture is right because "NP" can mean a manufacturer's grade. The cure time will change if you change the temperature, weather, or joint depth.
Teams that work on facades use this sealant at many joints on the outside. Cracks often show up along the edges of curtain walls, where glass meets aluminum, where metal panels connect, where expansion joints happen, where concrete panels join, and where windows or doors go through. As long as the drainage holes stay open, it also seals around vents, louvers, signs, and light fixtures.
Glass curtain walls, aluminum panels, and gaps between doors and windows can all be made from what comes from Jiaobao. It keeps the building envelope closed while the materials slip, stretch, and shake. Hard surfaces like natural stone, concrete, and masonry need extra care because they can let dirt and water in. For some projects, you may need to use a primer and test the glue or color before you can do the full installation.
People often mix these two up. It moves loads from the glass to the frame, like high winds, because it is made of high-modulus silicone. It takes less modulus to make a sealant that keeps the weather out. Still, it doesn't keep glass in place. It only keeps air and water out. Things can go badly if you use the wrong one.
When it comes to a structural glazing system, I will only suggest a sealant that has been approved and certified by the right authorities. Because it is Shore A 30 hard and has a 0.7 MPa tensile strength, the Jiaobao NP grade is used as a weather seal. Check the project plans to make sure you know what each joint does before you place your order.

For many years, the sun, rain, snow, and wind hit a wall. Because they are based on carbon, ultraviolet light and ozone hurt many polyurethane and acrylic sealants more than they hurt silicon. Because of this, NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade is often used on joints that are right next to the sun. Jiaobao sealer is made to not crack, fade, or react with ozone.
It also doesn't flake or get old when used outside. It can be used on walls that are cold in the winter and hot in the summer because it can work in temperatures from -50°F to +150°F. The seals don't always last, though. These numbers are just a starting point for checking the project. The service life will depend on how the joints are made, how well the surface is prepared, and how much contact they get.
New buildings are always going up and down. When the sun heats something up, aluminum expands more than glass or concrete. This makes all the joints swell up. When you stretch and then pull back up, the sealant shouldn't tear or come off the surface. GB 13477 tests show that the Jiaobao sealer can move 25% of the way. ASTM C920 divides rubber seals into groups based on their range of motion, such as 25 and 50.
In other words, a 25% rating can help you see how different specs stack up. If your joints need more than 25% of change, choose a different grade. The width of the joint is also important. So that a joint can move 25%, it needs to be big enough so that the glue stays in that range.
Water, snow, and rain can't get into the joint after the sealant dries because it forms a continuous, stretchy shield. The oils in the varnish could also leak out and leave dark rings around light stones and weak concrete. An ASTM C1248 test is used to see how well joint sealants stain porous surfaces. In that test, the Jiaobao sealing does not show any oil or waste. The paste stays in place in straight joints because the sag is 0 mm. GB 13477 says that the VOC level must be less than 80 g/L. Even so, I color a little stone first before I start on a big project.
Different kinds of sealants are good in their own ways. NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade joints usually stay flexible longer and don't fade as quickly as polyurethane or acrylic joints that are in direct sunlight. If you want to paint or fix some concrete cracks, polyurethane is often better because paint sticks to it better.
Acrylic is easy to paint on, but it doesn't move around much, so it's best for gaps that don't budge much. You order the color that goes with the outside because you can't paint rubber. Jiaobao has white, black, gray, and other colors because of this. If the joint moves around a lot and gets a lot of sun, you should start with silicone. If you need to paint the joint, polyurethane is a good choice.
It costs less and fixes faster most of the time, but acetoxy silicone gives off acetic acid. That acid can rust some metals, and it can also combine with alkaline surfaces like fresh concrete. For this reason, neutral-cure materials are often used on surfaces made of brick, aluminum, and metal that has been covered. Still, neutral cure doesn't always mean adhesion.
It's important to test the binding of some samples on your real materials because different types of stone, coatings, and anodized finishes act in different ways. Putting together parts that don't work on a wall with many stories would cost a lot more than that test.
Start with the facade system, which includes the substrates, the joints' width and depth, how much they will move, and the weather in the area. Next, check out how the different goods move, how hard they are, how strong they are, how long they last, and how long it takes for them to cure. This paste is sold by Jiaobao in 300 ml cartridges and 600 ml sausage packs. You can use it for a year. A cartridge can be used to make small fixes and touch-ups.
Crews don't have to change packs as often on longer runs, so they go faster. When US buyers talk about specs, they often mean ASTM C920. Ask the supplier what tests back up each claim. Ask for samples and make sure the glue sticks to all of them before you buy a lot of it.
Most issues with NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade happen before the gun is taken out. There is a standard guide for using joint sealants called ASTM C1193. It talks about how to make joints and prepare the surface. Get rid of dust, laitance (a thin film that forms on top), oil, grease, old sealant, and water from the concrete's surface. It is important to make sure that the joint is the right width and depth.
Then use a bond-breaker tape or a backer rod to make the sealant stick to only two sides instead of all three. It's hard to move and tears the bead when it sticks to three sides. Follow the instructions on the data sheet and only prime coated, stone, brick, concrete, or concrete surfaces if tests show they need it.
To make the joint fit, cut the tip to the right size and push a continuous bead into it. Fill from the bottom up so air doesn't get stuck. Do work on the skin before it forms. This item dries on its own in 30 minutes at 25℃ and 50% humidity. That amount of time shrinks in hot weather, so workers need to work fast. Sealant is pressed against the joint walls by the tool. This makes a smooth, concave shape that lets water slide off. After it has dried, look for cracks, holes, and bubbles. I also do a field bonding or water test on a sample piece before the group moves on to the next level.
These steps take away most of the danger before the wall is finished.
The NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade is made of RTV paste that doesn't harden. The top layer dries in 30 minutes, and the whole thing cures in 7–14 days. As per GB 13477, the substance is hard (Shore A 30), has a tensile strength of 0.7 MPa, and can only move 25% of the way it should. It can be used at temperatures between -50°F and +150°F.
This test shows that there is no oil because the sag is 0 mm, the VOC level is less than 80 g/L, and the VOC level is high. The tests were done at 25℃ and 50% relative humidity, so the real-world results will depend on the weather. Shore A 30 is soft and bendy, which is good for joints that move.
Shandong Jiaobao New Material Co., Ltd. has been making things for over 13 years, even though it was only found in 2013. There is a stable quality control system in place and they are certified by ISO and CE. Anyone who sells something in the US can give you the technical data sheet, the safety data sheet, information about the batch, and tips on how to put things together and make sure they work with other things.
They should check the product name, color, batch number, and expiration date when they get to the site. Carton should be kept for no more than 12 months after the expiration date. Having batch records that are always the same helps get projects approved and then look over warranties later on. When an item goes bad during its shelf life, Jiaobao also lets you get your money back or a new one.
You can get 300 ml cartridges and 600 ml sausage packs in any color you want on Jiaobao. Prices start at RM15. Your order will be made in one to two weeks, and you can ship it by land or sea. Customers who buy under their own brands and distributors can use OEM and ODM services to make sure that local packing and standards are met. For buyers, this means they can get everything they need at a price they can handle from a single place. I think you should send a project plan before you place a big order. That way, the team can grade it and set up some test cases.

NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade work seals exterior joints around curtain walls, glass, aluminum panels, concrete, and window and door gaps, but it is a weather seal, not a structural adhesive. It works well for joints that move around and can handle a wide range of temperatures. It also has a neutral fix, protects against UV and ozone, and allows for 25% movement. It is also good for sensitive surfaces because it doesn't leave stains.
Since silicone can't be painted, it's important to plan the color ahead of time. Silicone also holds up better in the sun than polyurethane and acrylic. You need to plan the joints well, use backer rods, keep the surfaces clean, make the tools on time, and use real materials to test the glue. Technical data, group records, and how well the package fits are checked to finish the selection process.
Of course not. Paint doesn't stick well to cured NP weatherproof silicone sealant for facade, and it comes off or cracks when the joint moves. Get sealer that matches the outside color instead. On Jiaobao, you can pick from white, black, gray, and one-of-a-kind designs.
No, it's a weatherproof sealant. For structural glass, you need a sealant that has been cleared by the building industry and passed their tests. The Jiaobao NP grade is best for weather joints. Before you place your order, make sure your expert knows what each joint is for.
It takes 30 minutes for the surface to dry. It takes 7–14 days for everything to dry at 25℃ and 50% relative humidity. Weather that is cold and dry, thin joints, and cold weather all slow down the curing process. When you plan water tests and final checks, keep this in mind.
